This experimental short video consists of three segments: workers loading a truck with waste paper to be shipped to China, a night view of Lower Manhattan as shot from DUMBO, Brooklyn, and a list of chief executives at the time this video footage was produced (2007-2008). Credits are a part of actual video. The 2007-2012 is considered the worst...

Dear ASPECT friends:

After ten years, twenty-six DVDs and the published works of over 200 artists, the staff and board of ASPECT have decided to stop publishing our DVD periodical. Looking back on what we have accomplished, it is no understatement to say that we took on the art world and changed the way it looks at new media art.

When ASPECT published our first DVD in 2003 there were few, if any, dedicated new media programs at the graduate or undergraduate level in the world. Youtube and Facebook did not yet exist. At that time the idea of getting video directly from artists and publishing it for the use and consumption of universities, students and other artists was considered impossible. A DVD periodical was an unknown idea, and it took several years to educate the public as to the potential of such a format.

Today, new media art programs exist at universities around the world. Many artists publish their work on their own website or on video sharing services. Video art is a much more accepted and understood medium, and the broader genre of new media art has been accepted and integrated into galleries, museums and academia. However, the concept of pairing primary source material and critical analysis in the same publication remains unique to ASPECT.

The world has changed around us and accepted the genre, format and approach that ASPECT has been highlighting. Therefore it is time for us to say thank you to all the artists who have contributed their work, the commentators who have lent their time and expertise, and the staff and volunteers over the years who have made this publication possible.

At its inception, the Tennessee Electronic Library provided access to 18 databases that covered a variety of subjects, including humanities, education, business science, current events, art, politics, economics, social sciences, law, health, computers, environmental issues and general interest topics. TEL was entirely supported by federal funds under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and administered by the Tennessee State Library and Archives, a division of the Tennessee secretary of state’s office.

In 2006, Aubrey Mitchell, retired University of Tennessee Associate Dean of Libraries, and Cathy Evans, Director of Libraries for St. Mary’s Episcopal School, Memphis, Tennessee, serving as co-chairs of the Tenn-Share TEL II Committee, brokered an agreement to include Literature Resource Center in TEL using the NPR model to fund the database. They contacted Tenn-Share member libraries throughout the state to contribute to the database so that all could have access.

Tenn-Share was also instrumental in helping TEL to reach the long-time goal of securing recurring state funding. In 2006, the Tennessee legislature allocated 1 million dollars per year to expand TEL.

Since additional funds have been added, TEL has grown into a resource of 70 databases supplied by six vendors. In addition to the Gale collection of databases, TEL resources include LearningExpress Library’s test preparation database, the genealogy database HeritageQuest online, and World Book Encyclopedia.

In an effort to continue to expand the materials available through TEL, the Tennessee State Library has added Volunteer Voices, a statewide digital collection from Tennessee institutions, and the Tennessee Virtual Archive, a digital repository of Tennessee History and Culture, to the list of available TEL resources. Volunteer Voices, another Tenn-Share initiative, and the Tennessee Virtual Archive, a program of the State Library and Archives, provide Tennessee students with direct access to primary source materials documenting the state’s rich history.

TEL saves individual libraries money by providing core reference materials, journals, newspapers and is of special benefit to smaller and rural libraries, since they could not afford these databases on their own.

The collection of papers of Baroness Thatcher deposited at Churchill Archives Centre, Cambridge, is among the largest and most significant of late twentieth century political archives.

The archive contains over 1 million documents in nearly three thousand archive boxes currently occupying around 300 metres of shelving. The papers date from Margaret Thatcher's childhood to the end of her life, and include tens of thousands of photographs, as well as a vast collection of press cuttings, and many audio and video tapes of public and private events. Thatcher never kept a diary, but the archive includes rich details of her role in important domestic and world events.

The Churchill Archives Centre and Margaret Thatcher Archive Trust are currently arranging to digitise all of Margaret Thatcher's personal and political papers files from her earliest years up to the end of her premiership, comprising around a million pages of documents.

When the material is ready for release, many of these documents will be placed online at the official website of the tenis nike air jordan 1 retro blue
, which already offers massive online resources.

The archive includes files of correspondence relating to Thatcher's selection as candidate for Dartford in 1949, her short backbench career, briefing papers from her posts in opposition 1964-70, a few files from her time as Education Secretary 1970-74, and valuable papers on her campaign for the party leadership in 1974-75. Her appointment diaries survive from 1962 onwards, providing a very full record of the way she spent her time.

The bulk of the collection, however, relates to Thatcher's period as leader of the Conservative Party, 1975-90. There are extensive files from her time as Leader of the Opposition (1975-79), including correspondence with Shadow Cabinet colleagues, minutes of Shadow Cabinet and policy committees, and briefing material of all kinds. There are also thousands of speech drafts, press releases and administrative files (e.g., planning for election visits).

Papers on the premiership (1979-90) are more extensive still. Their organisation reflects the way in which Number Ten Downing Street arranged Prime Ministerial business, sharply distinguishing official from party and personal matters. Most of the official archive remains in government hands, while party and personal material can be found at Churchill College.

The papers include an extensive press cutting collection covering the years 1949-80 in over 70 boxes. Originally compiled by Conservative Central Office, it is one of the most comprehensive collections ever attempted, drawing on every national and many regional newspapers.
